Hawkman is one of the most ambitious engineering efforts in the first wave and a perennial collector favorite. The figure features a Power Action Flight Wings mechanism: squeezing his legs together flaps his two large detachable wings in a genuine beating motion. The sculpt renders Katar Hol in his classic red, green and yellow costume with a fully realized hawk helmet. With three separate pieces to keep track of, Hawkman is one of the hardest Wave 1 figures to complete, and both the wings and the mace are frequently missing from loose examples.

Two large detachable wings peg into sockets on Hawkman's back and are driven by the internal spring mechanism. They are structural to the figure's action feature rather than simple hold accessories.

Collector's Notes:

Check the wing pegs and the internal mechanism before buying. Cracked pegs and dead springs are common, and a Hawkman whose wings no longer flap is worth substantially less than a working example.

The mace is small and very frequently missing. Reproductions circulate widely, so compare weight, plastic tone and the crispness of the head detail against a known original.
