Notes
Lex Luthor appears in the purple-and-green battlesuit designed for the toy line by George Pérez, who received royalties for his work on the figure — a notable footnote in an era when creators rarely saw any share of merchandising. His Power Action Nuclear Punch is triggered by squeezing his legs together, driving his arm forward in a heavy blow. The figure's removable armor chest plate is unusual for the line and gives Luthor a genuine play variation. He was packed in reasonable numbers and remains one of the easier first-wave villains to acquire.
Luthor's chest plate snaps over the torso and can be removed entirely, revealing the battlesuit underneath. It is one of the only removable armor pieces in the first wave.
A 16-page full-color mini-comic was included with every carded Lex Luthor.
Collector's Note:
The chest plate can be missing and the clips that hold it in place are prone to stress cracks. Test the fit before buying — a loose-fitting plate usually means a broken tab.
